Medical Clinical Laboratory Technician (Applied Technology Diploma)
CTAE'S LAB TRAINING IS THE SCIENCE OF CAREER SUCCESS The Medical Clinical Laboratory Technician program equips students with the skills to become licensed medical lab technicians and medical/clinical laboratory technicians.
Students who complete the full medical lab training program will receive an Applied Technology Diploma and be eligible to take a National Certification examination at the Technician level. Successful completion of the AAB or the AMT examination allows students to receive their State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technician license by endorsement. The demand for licensed individuals in this field is growing, creating ideal career opportunities for CTAE graduates!

| This course is designed as an introduction to healthcare including communication, legal and ethical responsibilities, safety, infection control, CPR, First Aid and HIV/AIDS training. |

Phlebotomist |
| This course includes communication, phlebotomy in relation to the healthcare setting, anatomy and physiology in relation to the phlebotomist, collection and processing of specimens, infection control and quality assurance and safety. This includes practical application of skills in our clinical laboratory. |

Medical Lab Assistant |
| This course includes basic knowledge in microbiology, urinalysis, clinical chemistry, hematology and the performance of these skills in the clinical laboratory as "WAIVED TESTS." This course includes practical application in our clinical laboratory. This is a prerequisite for the Medical Clinical Laboratory Technician (ATD) Program. |

| This course includes knowledge of immunohematological, immunological/serological and body fluid analysis principles and procedures, and operation of computer systems. |
Program Length:1,515 Hours, 63 weeks
Admission Requirements:
Standard career and technical program admission procedures apply. A high-school diploma or GED is required, and students must have completed the Phlebotomy and Medical Lab Assisting Programs or possess equivalent documented experience. Students must also attend an information session and are responsible for uniforms and additional requirements applicable to the program.
