    EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

    EMT TRAINING FOR A LIFESAVING CAREER

    Save lives and start a great new career by becoming an Emergency Medical Technician with CTAE's Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program. The program teaches students to work at the basic pre-hospital EMT level, using the appropriate equipment and materials to treat a variety of medical and trauma conditions.

    Both state and national agencies have accredited and approved CTAE's EMT program, ensuring students quality education for a career that helps people when they need it most.

    COURSES:

    HSC0003I Basic Health Care Worker
    This course is designed as an introduction to healthcare including communication, legal and ethical responsibilities, safety, infection control, CPR and HIV / AIDS training.
     
    EMS0159 Emergency Medical Technician
    This course includes medical/legal/ethical issues, take base line vital signs, lift and move patients, basic and advanced airway management, evaluate scene of a trauma or medical emergency, initial and ongoing assessments, communication as an EMT-B, assist patients to administer medications, manage various trauma situations, manage emergency situations involving infants/children, perform focused and detailed history and physical examinations.

    PROGRAM LENGTH:

    346 hours, 8 weeks

    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

    TABE test required high school diploma or GED. Additional requirements applicable to program.
