    APPLIED WELDING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

    WELDING COURSES FOR AN IN-DEMAND CAREER

    The Applied Welding Technology program's welding training that prepares students for employment in the manufacturing, industrial or utility industries. As Marion County’s provider of welding education, CTAE is pleased to help students enter the in-demand welding profession with top-quality local training.

    Upon completion of all course requirements, students earn a Certificate of Completion in Applied Welding Technology. Students may also earn up to 7 American Welding Society welding certifications, enhancing their career prospects even further.

    COURSES:

    PMT 0011 Welder Helper/SMAW Basic
    This course introduces the field of welding, and instructs on the safe practices in welding. It also includes basic Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW) theory and principles. Students will also earn a 10-hour OSHA General Industry Safety Certification.
     
    PMT 00125 Welder Shielded Metal Arc
    This course continues in intermediate and advanced theory and principles of Shielded Metal Arc. Also includes practicum in the uses and procedures in SMAW.
     
    PMT 0013 Welder Gas-Metal Arc
    This course provides theory, principles and practicum in Gas Metal Arc (GMAW) processes. Students will learn flat, vertical up and horizontal welding methods using this process.
     
    PMT 0014 Welder Flux Cored Arc
    This course provides theory, principles and practicum in Flux Cored Arc (FCAW) processes. Students will learn flat, vertical up and horizontal welding methods using this process.
     
    PMT 0015 Welder Gas-Tungsten Arc
    This course provides theory, principles and practicum in Tungsten Arc (GTAW) processes. Students will learn and practice flat, vertical up and horizontal welding methods using this process.
     
    PMT0016 Welder, Pipe
    This course provides theory, principles and practicum in pipe welding. Students will learn. Students will learn to pipe weld using 2” to 6” pipe utilizing SMAW and GTAW processes.

    APPLIED WELDING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM LENGTH:

    1170 Hours, 42 Weeks
